Rodney joined Bluestem as an Associate Financial Advisor in late 2019, after working for four years at a regional wealth management firm. Rodney holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Agricultural and Consumer Economics, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.

His upbringing taught him the significance of financial decision making within a household, ultimately setting him on a path to empower individuals and families to feel confident in their choices. Rodney believes that an objective, comprehensive approach to financial planning, in concert with a relationship built upon trust and understanding, leads to peace of mind for clients.

Rodney left his hometown of Galesburg in pursuit of his college degree at UIUC, fell in love with the Urbana-Champaign area and called it home for almost 10 years. Along the way, he met his lovely wife, Hyein Lee. In the Fall of 2022, Rodney and Hyein headed to the Grand Canyon State, settling down in Tempe, AZ. From his new desert home, Rodney continues to serve clients virtually and via in-office hybrid meetings.

He enjoys watching NBA basketball, particularly the Golden State Warriors, and learning about random things like severe weather systems and the physics of aviation. Rodney looks forward to his next trip to Busan, South Korea to visit his in-laws, but will settle for his wife’s delicious cooking in the meantime.
